Vernon Hills, IL – For a second year, Manhard Consulting associates from our Vernon Hills and Lombard offices and their family members volunteered at the Northern Illinois Food Bank (NIFB). Staff members worked together at the Park City and Geneva facilities of NIFB to pack 15,400 pounds of frozen meat into family boxes for 12,900 meals and 175 pounds of turkey gravy mix to be added to 1,890 meals. Both evenings were organized by Tim Murphy, PLS.
“My co-workers and I really enjoyed this volunteer event last year,” said Tim Murphy, survey manager for Manhard Consulting. “It feels great to know that we are helping to make a difference in the lives of families suffering from food insecurity”
The Northern Illinois Food Bank (NIFB) works to solve hunger by providing nutritious meals to those in need in Boone, DuPage, DeKalb, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, Ogle, Stephenson, Will & Winnebago counties. As a nonprofit organization with a goal of solving hunger in a 13-county service area, the NIFB relies on community partners – the local food pantries and feeding programs, food manufacturers and retailers, companies, foundations and individuals who join them in their vision for no one to be hungry in northern Illinois.
