Chicago, IL – On February 4^th, Manhard Consulting and WRD Environmental received recognition at the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association (ILCA) Awards Night for their outstanding work on the William Hammerschmidt School Learn + Play Gardens project. The project was selected to receive an Excellence in Landscape Gold Award with Sustainable Honors in the Specialty Element category.

Manhard Consulting served as a sub-consultant to WRD Environmental, providing the engineering and stormwater management services to the unique playground project. Manhard team members, Jerremy Foss and Stoyan Kolev worked with WRD to design innovative and sustainable drainage solutions to the play area and parking lot.

The ILCA Awards Program recognizes and promotes the skills and expertise of landscape professionals. The WHS Learn + Play Gardens Project earned Sustainable Landscaping Honors with its innovative nature-based play areas and drainage methods that minimize erosion, promote ground infiltration and feed tree root systems.
